Day 5: September 17, 2026 (Scottish Seabird Centre)
Scottish Seabird Centre in North Berwick (by Kristin & Valeria) We started the day at the train station once again. Except we weren’t going home, we were going to visit North Berwick and its seabird center. As we got ready for the day ahead, we received news that the weather wouldn’t be as kind to us as it had been the days before. Rain and heavy winds awaited us, which resulted in a cancelled boat trip to Bass Rock. However, with never relenting high spirits, we started our activities at the seabird center and soon the canceled boat trip was completely forgotten. The first thing we did was rock pooling, which consisted in searching for crustaceans like different crabs, anemone, starfish etc. at the sea floor that had been made visible by the low tide. After a quick lunch we did our part and had the opportunity to help clean up the beach. To finish the day we went out for a walk, binoculars in hand.
